As of October 5th, both Artists Repertory Theatre and Portland Center Stage have withdrawn their 16-17 seasons from Drammy consideration. No additional information was provided.
For the 16-17 season, the Drammy Committee has launched a pilot project involving Bag and Baggage and Clackamas Repertory Theatre; we have added them to the list of theatres considered for Drammy Awards! Due to the travel distance, we have been reluctant to commit, despite frequent invitations. The choice of so many Portland actor and designers to work for these companies also encouraged us to re-consider.
Last spring, individual Committee members made commitments to attend productions in these theatres. It’s going well and a permanent decision will be made next spring.
